Point Of View: NBC Going Back To SkyCam View For Next Week's "TNF" Game

NBC will use SkyCam as its primary camera next week for its Broncos-Colts “TNF” game. NBC twice previously this season has used SkyCam for its main camera angle -- the Nov. 16 Titans-Steelers “TNF” game and the Oct. 22 “SNF” Falcons-Patriots game, when SkyCam was the only camera that could capture players on the field when a blinding fog rolled into Gillette Stadium. For its SkyCam games, NBC Sports uses conventional camera angles on all third downs and any play in the red zone, NBC Sports Exec Producer Fred Gaudelli told Sports Business Journal. The net also will use conventional cameras during two-minute drills and at the end of any one-score game. “Every down other than those, we decided that we were going to be on the SkyCam,” Gaudelli said. “We were going to commit to the SkyCam to those other plays. It’s probably about 60% of the plays.”
