The NHL arguably is coming off its best season since the lockout. It launched its own network in the U.S., hosted its first outdoor game, strengthened its new media offering and saw its ratings skyrocket behind a Detroit-Pittsburgh Stanley Cup Finals. How will the league keep that momentum in 2008-09? More than likely it will look to its teams, several of which made strong business gains last season.
