NYC2012 named Credit Suisse First Boston CEO JOHN MACK as Vice Chair, "making him the ranking member of its large" BOD (N.Y. TIMES, 6/8)....Dodgers Senior VP/Baseball Operations DAVE WALLACE announced he is in negotiations to become the Red Sox' pitching coach. The offer is "believed to be in the $450,000 range" (L.A. TIMES, 6/8)....The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) elected RENE FASEL as President for the '03-08 period, his third term in office. Fasel and the rest of the leadership of the IIHF were elected at the organization's General Congress in Marbella, Spain (AROUND THE RINGS, 6/6)....In this week's SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, Terry Lefton writes MLB named DAN DERIAN as the first-ever Research Dir, "with a charter to compile and sift through data on MLB TV viewership, along with overall fan demographic information." Derian was an exec with McCann-Erickson, which, "perhaps not coincidently, has MLB as a client." Lefton also writes that USA Track & Field named Washington Univ. in St. Louis Regional Dir of Development TOM JACKOVIC as Dir of Development. The SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's Noah Liberman writes BOB MAZZONE, who has held senior sales positions with Golf Digest, MLBPA and ISL, and senior account management positions with Reach Marketing and Colangelo Synergy Marketing, has opened Darien, CT-based Sponsor's Edge (SBJ, 6/9 issue).
